Awesta, you've been training as an office management assistant at ECON TEL for half a year. Why did you choose this training?
I chose this training because this apprenticeship makes it possible to find a job in just about every sector: Office management clerks work in companies in all sectors of the economy. These hard-working all-rounders are needed everywhere, who can take on tasks in accounting, marketing, human resources and many other areas. And as for me personally: In this job, I can do things every day that I really enjoy!
That sounds like the right choice for you! Why did you choose ECON TEL as your training company?
Before I applied to ECON TEL, I took a look at what I think is a very modern homepage. At first I thought to myself: Sales service provider? What exactly is behind it? After further research, I knew that they work here every day to support companies in sales. ECON TEL places particular value on the personal skills of the employees, which — combined with an easy start — has made the decision easy for me.
I had two job interviews, once digitally and once in person. During my first digital job interview, I was nervous at first, but that settled down very quickly. I was relieved of the feeling of nervousness through friendly conversations. It felt like an introductory conversation and not like an interview in which I was only asked about my professional qualifications.
Can you remember your first week with us? How was it?
Yes, that was great! I noticed the work structure in the team the most — I really liked it and I still like it! I was able to work on a task with everyone from the team, so I was able to get to know them very well. Interesting tasks and a great team. At ECON TEL, it is clear that communication is our core business. As a result, I have also had a positive memory of the many feedback discussions that took place, especially in the early days. That's what I notice: Here, attention is paid to the well-being of employees; they feel valued.
We meet with the entire team every morning: either locally or digitally if someone is currently working from home. We always talk about the upcoming working day: What's up today? Do I need help with specific tasks? Or is there a concern that needs to be clarified within the team?
What tasks do you take on? What does your typical working day at ECON TEL look like?
As I said, the morning starts with a team meeting. Then it's time to get to work. First, the emails are checked, answered, sorted and, if necessary, forwarded. I then take on tasks for our customers on my own responsibility: This includes creating PowerPoint presentations, for example. In these presentations, I evaluate results that colleagues have achieved in the projects.
Editing project books is also on my daily schedule. This is about collecting all information about the respective project and preparing it clearly for the customer. Even as an apprentice, I can take on responsibility.
My telephone rings from time to time: If the central office is busy, the calls are forwarded to me. I accept them and do my best to help the caller. I spend my breaks with my colleagues in our break room, the Mora Lounge.
Well, my working days are very varied — I really never get bored at ECON TEL!
What would you say to prospective trainees who are thinking about training in our company?
I would and can only recommend training at ECON TEL. In any case, I really like it! You will quickly get to know the processes here and will take on a number of tasks independently soon after familiarization. The trainers take their time and let the trainees arrive in peace and quiet and get used to everyday working life. And the other colleagues are also always very friendly and open to listen.
There is a really good working environment at ECON TEL, which is very important to me personally.
